SOLADRILHO Face presents a solution of fully ventilated and rain-proof facade painted in “terracotta” colour.
A ventilated rain-proof facade is an innovative building solution of constantly growing importance in the modern architecture not only due to the technical advantages, but also due to aesthetic appearance

SOLADRILHO Face ventilated rain-proof facades are arranged by fastening plates painted in “terracotta” colour to the aluminium structures, which in their range are fastened to the structural frame or inside plate of the building. Open horizontal connections between the plates allow the air accession to the ventilated zone located just under the plates.

Ventilated zone improves the resistance of facade to the influence of weather and protects the building against moisture and condensate. The difference between outside and inside air temperatures and specific weight produces the “chimney effect”, preventing the direct access of warmth and cold in the building. Different specific weight of warm and cold air creates a constant upward air movement in all ventilated zone, thus producing two major advantages:
- in winter both fastening structures and isolation remain dry, thus decreasing the issues of moisture and condensate,
- and in summer a part of solar radiation is absorbed and prevented from penetration inside the building.

Advantages created by the constant air flow movement require the ventilated zone to be even in width and equal in measurements, what is especially difficult to get using traditional moisture-proving building methods. SOLADRILHO Face presents an openly connected finishing system. The air flow in the ventilated zone of openly connected system is more constant and has more advantages against the stuff system; furthermore, it is easily adjusting to the influence of wind pressure and temperature changes.
Characteristics and advantages of SOLADRILHO Face ventilated facade
SOLADRILHO Face presents a combination of high quality finishing materials with a natural beauty of deep “terracotta” colour. More and more architects use this technology not only with renovation and conservation projects, but also with newly built buildings, where this system provides superlative aesthetic advantages together with project flexibility and the potential to create any form.
SOLADRILHO Face ventilated facades present a modern building solution both for newly built and renewable projects. The system ideally suits to the schemes that require secure and attractive finishing solution and can be applied to any type of buildings, including residential buildings, offices, trade centres, hospitals, hotels and industrial building structures.
SOLADRILHO Face is manufactured using natural clay colours producing both optional and standard “terracotta” colours, and various in size, as from large, medium and up to small formats. All this, together with variety of glitziness, make SOLADRILHO Face a perfect modern architecture facade solution.
Technical advantages of SOLADRILHO Face ventilated facades:
Heat insulation
SOLADRILHO Face creates effective heat insulation. In summer the ventilated facades of outside walls form a natural “heat shield’, which effectively protects buildings against direct solar radiation heat. Ventilation helps to maintain even temperature in the zone of outside isolation.
Energy efficiency
SOLADRILHO Face ventilated facades help to produce increased heat insulation levels all year round, especially due to the system’s capability of adapting to different layers of isolation material, without significant thickening walls in total. In the light of studies, such thermally effective walls may decrease energy consumption during lifetime of building, thus highlighting economical advantages and cost savings of these facades, if compared with other building forms.
Sound protection
Sound protection materials may also be used in SOLADRILHO Face ventilated facades, producing significant decrease in sound penetration throughout the walls.
Natural ventilation
By circulating in ventilated zone, the air determines that moisture is not accumulated under the influence of condensate or capillary.
Water penetration
Ventilated rain-proof facades guarantee long-term protection against heavy rains or other factors of weather, such as ice or snow. Water penetration is one of major reasons, why the majority of constructions fail. Tests of research and weather conditions show the absence of any significant rain or snow penetration into the cavities of SOLADRILHO Face ventilated facades. Angular horizontal connection between the plates is open and allows the air to move inside the facade, pressing the ventilation zone and significantly decreasing the risk of rain penetration, even if heavily influenced by wind.
